Note that this a review for their brunch. We came here after next door Crepes du Nord had an insanely long wait time. Their brunch menu is quite small, consisting of 3 dishes and an equal number of drinks. More if you count the fact that one of them is an all-encompassing "beer". We were pretty much the only ones silly enough to be there at noon on a Saturday and I suppose the service wasn't bad, but considering how we didn't see anyone else, it could have easily been better. The food was plated quite prettily and was decently tasty, although the portion sizes could have been bigger. I got the omelet and friends got the salmon, which was even smaller. Their drinks weren't too strong, but decently sized and at least included in a prix-fixe menu of $18, which is a tad on the pricey side. Anyway, most of you will probably not be so lazy as to not walk farther than the restaurant next door if Crepes du Nord has a long wait... hopefully.

I guess there's a reason why out of all of the bars on stone street, THIS was the only one empty during the world cup games. The selection is lacking and prices are incredibly high for what you get. Service is also absolutely terrible. Don't come here-- there aren't many good options on stone street, but you can find better. Dead Rabbit and Vintry come to mind specifically.

Our bartender Alina was very friendly. The pretzels were delicious and buttery. The accompanying beer cheese sauce was berry and cheesy. The only bad thing was they lacked oompa music.

One of the best German beer pubs I've ever been to. Great bartender Jodi recommended a wheat beer which was delish. Ate the pork belly sliders and potato cakes. I can't recommended eating these things enough. Just do it. Seriously do it!!!

I was pretty excited when I heard a German restaurant was opening on Stone Street. I've been here a few times since it opened and every time it seems to get better. The food, the atmosphere, the staff, and the beer are all amazing- what more can you ask for? The prices seem a little steep on the surface, but that's New York City. I've only had appetizers here so far, but they've all been amazing. The pretzel is large, warm and comes with excellent beer cheese and spicy mustard. The sauce on the wings was a perfect combination of sweet and spicy. The pork belly sliders were to die for. The atmosphere is relaxed. I haven't seen the place packed yet, which I like some evenings. I've had some nice conversations with the bartenders and wait staff. I recommend posting up with a few friends at the bar, splitting a few appetizers, beers, and maybe a shot ski. If you're feeling up to the challenge, they have a 3 liter boot (yes, 3 liters)!

We've walked by this area in the past and never stopped in any of the bars. Decided to stop in Bavaria. Cool atmosphere. Large selection of beers. Good prices. $8 for 1/2 liter of beer.

On a recent visit to the German Beer House, on Stone Street, I was impressed by the cuisine, as well as the extensive and impressive beer list. However, the good times were marred by an incident. As I went to use the ladies room, a man made inappropriate gestures of a sexual nature. When I pointed this out to management, rather than taking the side of a woman, zero tolerance, inappropriate, management appeared to defend the perpetrator of the nasty acts and engaged in a verbal tirade against me. Even though the man may have been a regular or good customer, it does not excuse his actions and management's inaction. It was not what I had bargained for, in having an after work cocktail to unwind and relax. Management should re-examine their priorities.

Went there for lunch and sat outside. Service was prompt. Food was solid not amazing. I had the 2 sausage platter which came with potato salad and sauerkraut. I felt it was kind of pricey for what you get.

Cool, unassuming setting. Split a 2L beer boot with a buddy. Absolutely get the pork belly waffle sliders - one of the better dishes i've had in a while. Tender, rich pork belly and golden crispy waffles with a great sauce.

Makes me "feeling like at home" during my stays in New York. Real typical German food and best German beer. Nice location especially in summer outside. Kind and fast service. Easy to find and expecially for tourist close to Wall Street and Ferry to Liberty Island

Horrible food, they have a sauce on the steak. You can tell it's not a quality steak. Expensive burger and you can get the same quality almost at Burger king. Very small sausages compare to the rest of the beergardern's in town. Positive: if I have to give a rating for beer size definitely a 5 starts, they have a good size for beer, large glasses 1/2 liter even a 1 liter and more. So kudos on the beer side.

Friendly, patient waitress for the 1am bar hopping crowd. Really interesting beer selections, enjoyed our night cap with a reasonably priced flight. Can't comment on the food but after coming from stone street it was nice to find a place where our group could actually hear each other to have a conversation.

Beers aren't bad - maybe a bit pricey but definitely not cheap. But $16 for two sausage links the size of my thumbs (if you think i'm exaggerating, please go there and order the two sausage platter)? Come on. That's just silly even for NYC standards. It's sausage. Left over meat and parts ground and encased in intestine. I initially thought that they meant two TYPES of sausage in a platter (they give you three options) for $16 but much to my surprise, nope - it's two little sausages in a small platter, no less. Give me more of it (multiple links or larger) if you're gonna charge me that and want me to come back. If you had, i would have stayed and drank a few more beers, which is where you make your money in the first place.

Came here for HH last. Have to say the food was pretty terrible. The only decent thing was the buffalo wings. If it's not obvious, stick to beer and stay away from the cocktails. The friends I was with had their hearts set on mixed drinks which came out tasting pretty disgusting. Only reason I chose to not give 2 stars is because it is located on stone street which automatically adds a fantastic ambience.

Came here with a friend after work on a Monday and we were able to snag a spot outside on Stone St. I love the fun outdoor atmosphere with lights and flags overhead. I ordered the smoked pork "dog," which was a smoked pork sausage on a pretzel bun with mustard, onions, and a bbq sauce. It also came with a fresh and tasty mixed greens salad. Plus the service was friendly. All in all, a positive experience!

Stopped by here with a couple of co-workers during lunch and I must say I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty all the food was. I usually don't have high expectations for beer houses in terms of their food because most people just come here for a couple of drinks. The highlight of the meal has got to be the Bavarian Fries. It consists of fries (which by itself is already really good), topped with beef stew and then a perfectly cooked sunny side up egg. Once you pop the egg yolk and it seeps onto the fries mixed with the stew - it becomes heaven. I'm still thinking about those fries a week after we've had it. Then I had the Skirt Steak for the entrée which had a pretty tasty sauce and the potatoes that came with it was very good as well. My only complain is maybe I'm just not a great fan of the skirt steak it seems a bit more chewy than my usual preference of filet.

I can't give 0 stars unfortunately. I went with girlfriends for drinks and some food after work, hoping to enjoy outdoors. My choice for the food was cheeseburger with French fries. After second bite I felt something like a bone in my mouth , so I took it out only to see that is a piece of a white plate. We all freaked out a bit what would happen if I actually ended up eating it...but everything was good. My friends started looking for a waitress to return the plate and let them know what happened . We told waitress what happened, she apologized , asked where I found the piece , in the meat or with toppings (how that makes difference ? ) and then went to get a manager. After 5 minutes waitress was back , no sign of a manager ,she was back letting us know "they don't have that shade of a white" but they will pay for our drinks and make me another cheeseburger. I was not interested in having food from their kitchen again ,God knows what would come out second time. But I am interested in what kind of a manager sends poor waitress to tell guests that kind of stupidity. You are disrespectful to your guests and your stuff , give your salary to the servers because you are useless.

Came here for an event with financial people. The venue itself is awesome & has great decor. The food I had at the event wasn't bad and the water I had was good. Perhaps this is a place you could go during happy hour to meet a hot guy. Just saying there were some cute ones here.

Nice atmosphere and good food in the financial district. The pretzel was great and I will definitely come get another one soon. Service was very good and they were not annoyed at us for waiting on other people to arrive. The inside and outside areas are both a nice choice and great for going out with colleagues for lunch.

What a terrific spot to party with friends and watch a sporting event like the World Cup: big screen TV's all over! The serving staff is friendly, knowledgeable and pleasant and they wear cute tee shirts that say "Beauty is in the eye of the bier holder" which is so appropriate for a Beer House! But this place is more than that. The food is quite good. The Bavarian breakfast is huge and filling, with different sausages, scrambled eggs with muenster cheese, potatoes with onion and a Bavarian pretzel. All the dishes from the granola, honey and seasonal fresh fruit are large and very tasty, as are the burgers and fries. Go for weekend brunch and sit outside with the rest of the world on a nice, sunny day. If you prefer to be indoors, it's attractive and comfy. You'll run into a real international crowd here and you'll enjoy the time and money well spent. Of course , the beer is good! Even the chairs are authentic looking German chairs. They should be...they and the bar came from Germany! Clean restrooms with handicap access able on the first floor.

An authentic beer hall is exactly what FiDi needs. This new edition to stone street will provide a great option for all the beer lovers out there who feel stunted with the lack of German, Belgian, Czech offerings in the neighborhood. I know, as an IPA hound, I rarely am found wanting a hoppy brew and not being able to find one. However now that summer is here it's all about the Pilsners & Ales. The layout is nice with its authentic looking all wood everything, large windows and huge beer selection spread over two floors. They serve beers in your standard size glass, half pint and full pint boot or stein. They even have the big steins and boots for when your really looking to get your drink on. When the weather is nice, there are also picnic tables out on Stone street to drink at. I haven't tried the food but the two times I have come and drank here, I have had nothing but positive experiences.

I want to say good things about this place but I have nothing to say. I have given this restaurant two chances but it has failed each time. While the decor of the restaurant suggests a laid back and fun place to hang out at, its service and the food says otherwise. I ordered the potato pancakes and the salmon from here and disliked both immensely. It lacked flavor and seasoning and all that is right with the food world. The service is, quite frankly, terrible. Both times I went, it took a very long time for the waiter to get to our table, for us to get the food, and for us to get a check. Ridiculous. I wouldn't come back - the food is not worth the wait.

Incredibly nice. Didn't normally serve a Radler but were willing to try! Really - the waitress was genuinely pleasant :-) in a mock up of the Bavarian dress! Oh yea, we just had Dunkels and Carrot Cake for a snack and both were wunderbar.

Loved the decor of this place from the outside, very authentic german. Inside is a huge bar, with two entrances and some tables for larger parties. The beer list wasnt as big as i hoped, but glad they separate it by light and dark. Great sized beers, one can make me tipsy. We were hungry too so decided to get some brockwurt(expensive at $9 for one) and they were so good. Got some german fries(MUST) which tasted like heaven with a hint of bacon flavor. Overall pretty reasonable for a huge glass of beer and food. Would def come again.

Leave it to the SO to bring me to a totally unfamiliar yet thoroughly awesome beer scene: Stone Street. That's right, this charming cobblestone street in FiDi now plays host to an Epcot Center-meets-Oktoberfest alley of brew-centric bars and restaurants, all vying for your affections with their own beer garden. Though my original destination was its neighbor, Bavaria Bierhaus provided the requisite available outdoor seating for a boozy Sunday afternoon. We munched on something tasty--a flat-bread with melted cheese and portobello mushrooms, I think. BB had the standard array of bier garten German, Czech, and Belgian brews. I went with trusty old Weihenstephaner and never looked back. SO chose a tasty dark wheat (sorry, no hops here for your IPA hounds). The lion The only detractors here is the heavy tourist/child presence, but if you can get past it, BB is a nice little afternoon pit stop for day-raging.

This isn't my first time at this restaurant, which is why my disappointment drove me to post a negative review. I went here with a group of 12+ for a birthday on my first visit and met a friend for lunch on my second. The $9 pretzels are always good here and the food is decent. We decided to go today with a group of 13 to celebrate one of our colleagues birthday for lunch. So here's how it went: 12:40pm - Get seated upstairs for 13 people. No lights and chairs on top of table behind us? 12:45pm - Server/bartender takes our food and drink orders. 1:10pm - We inquire about our drinks. The bartender said it is coming right up. Meanwhile, another table walks out because food was taking long. 1:18pm - Pretzels arrive. Pretzels gone and still no drinks? C'monn man, these pretzels are making me thirsty. 1:29pm - 5 out of 13 drinks arrive and the waitress notifies us that it'll take about 15mins for our entrees. 1:30pm - We walk out the door. Really?! Totally unacceptable for a restaurant located in FiDi. Hey Bavaria, people generally don't have 2 hours for lunch! If you couldn't accommodate us, it's okay to let us know so you won't waste our time. At 40% capacity, service should not be this bad unless Kitchen Nightmares is filming. I just feel sorry for our server which happened to be her first day. I have friends in the industry, so feel free to contact me if you want to work at a respectable establishment. A restaurant is as good as the last experience. We won't be coming back here ever again. By the way, 1 star for the pretzel.

  • Vincent D.

Get the giant pretzel! Soft, warm and cooked over grill. I had the three cheese Bavarian grilled cheese, very good. The potato cakes with root grass and sour cream/chives was also good. Get a table outside and people watch. Have a half liter of German beer with dinner and really enjoy life.

  • H S.

I'm concerned staff do not know the menu (or its errors) and either have no skills or they don't bother to rectify their disinterest in the quality of their service to you. Perhaps it starts with the potato salads being severely wrong. Maybe it is just annoying to get a dumb look from a waitress who does not know that the Leberkaes (meatloaf) is NOT hamburger-meat based whatsoever or that "knock" or "knack" include the 'K" pronounced, and that NO, it is not a Weisswurst. Generally speaking, it is a red flag that there could be additional processes behind the scene that would disgust...and management has not possibly bothered to teach its staff or provide any information the way you'd expect.

This place is getting 5 stars for the pork belly sliders alone. Stopped in for lunch today on a whim. I don't know anything about German beer, so just pointed to the one that had "bitter" in the description. "Do you want the small or the large?" asks my bartender. "Ah... large?" She returns with the biggest mug I've ever seen, something you could properly call a tankard (thankfully I don't have much going on at work this afternoon). Honestly, the beer was only slightly better than Budweiser, but the experience, combined with pork belly sliders that really make you stop and say wow, warrant the five stars.

    (5)
  • Scott J.

Don't bother with this place the service SUCKS. The football player looking bartender has a much better time on Her cell phone and talking to waitresses to care about the four people at the bar. I didn't have the food because getting a beer was hard enough, so that might be good.

    (1)
  • Ana A.

The food wasn't as good as I spected, and the service was very slow... We had to wait more than 40 minutes to get our food even the restaurant wasn't full and the pretzels came as dessert...

  • Pete B.

I loved the food at this place. If you come here definitely try the pork-belly waffle sliders, they were amazing. Also had a wiessewurst with a mug of bier. Nice atmosphere and are out on the cobble stone street. Great German beer selection if trying new beer is your thing definitely go here. Little pricey for the portions you get, but that is typical for all of the restaurants on Stone/Pearl Street. Definitely coming back again for more German beer and more pork belly sliders!

  • Garreth G.

Beer was good. Service sucked. I sat outside in the front and me and my girlfriend ordered a beer each with fries. 30 minutes later never got the fries and just ended up paying for the bill. Took a waiter (we had two) another 20 minutes to get the check and then another 20 minutes to get change back. Once I got the change for some reason a different waiter went to give us a second amount of change. I didn't take the money but they need to know they need better service.

My coworker and I had been meaning to come here for quite some time, so when the opportunity presented itself we decided to stop in. Around 1PM, the place was barely half-full. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated at a high top booth toward the back (the front if you come in through South William, but keep in mind the main entrance is on Stone). The menus are basic but have all the German staples, as well as a few specials. On the back of the food menu is the beer menu. We decided we had to get a beer considering it's a German restaurant and well, ya know... Our waitress was very sweet and took our orders quickly. We both decided to go with the chicken schnitzel sandwich. Breaded chicken, bacon, brie, and lettuce all on pretzel bread slathered with honey mustard. We had the choice of frites on the side or mixed greens, we both went with the latter. The sandwich was amazing but way too large. We both took half of it home. The dressing on the mixed greens was pretty tasty and had a bit of a kick to it. The beer was good but sadly we could only do a 1/2 liter since we did have to return to work. Overall, this is a decent lunch spot in the Financial District. It's a bit pricey ($17 for a sandwich) but it's worth it since the food is pretty solid.

My wife and I walked in at dinner time looking for some steins of beer and good German food. We were not disappointed. They had a good selection of beers on tap, and more bottled. But the real highlight of the night was the food. The pretzel was huge and fresh, and the mustard and beer cheese dipping sauces were addictive. I ordered the Sauerbraten, and I can't say enough about it. It was so tender and juicy that it made my knife unnecessary, and the bed of mashed parsnips it was on were soft and fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness. The two together made the perfect combination. My wife got the wienerschnitzel, and it was huge! It was crispy and delicious, but it was actually outshined by the German potato salad. The potatoes were so perfectly cooked and flavored that they disappeared long before the veal. The waitress was friendly, and the chef made the rounds personally towards the end of our meal, asking how the food was and making small talk. All-in-all it was a great experience. The only reason I knocked off one star is because the meal was a little pricy given the atmosphere. The total came to $110 with tax and tip for four beers, two entrees, and an appetizer. Not the worst deal, but more than I thought I'd pay sitting at a bar table.

I've read some of these reviews that are like, "greatly overpriced vs. the other Bierhauses in town" - well yeah, this is Stone Street. Every bar on Stone Street is required to be awesome and you're going to pay for it. All expectations aside, I freaking love this place. It's cute inside, it has the new bar glow, the bar staff are adorable, the food is amazing (we had a wurst sampler, and bacon brussel sprouts) - what's not to love. The beer glasses are ginormous. I highly recommend for quenching the Friday afternoon need-a-beer-right-now.

My husband and I went a few weeks ago on a Sunday early afternoon - I am not a beer drinker but the bar tender suggested a very light and citrusy beer they had and it was delicious! Sorry don't remember the name... we had the potato salad, DELISIOUS so was the weinerschnitzel. Also the Chef John came by introduced himself and then bought us this delicious bread putting type of dessert he made using waffles - honestly probably the best dessert I have ever had!!! It was light, not too sweet, just heavenly! We can't wait to go back! Chef John is a super nice and so was the rest of the staff and the place is gorgeous! Great Experience!

Had two meals and sampled 6 or 7 tems. The food is not authentic German food and is very greasy. Also, service was terrible both times. I won't be giving them a third chance.

  • Kris K.

I was very disappointed with my overall experience at the Bierhaus. The decorations and set up are great, but the service was terrible. It took forever to get our drinks, let alone the food. Also, the menu says "leberkase," which is a traditional German dish, but you are actually served meatloaf, so if you are expecting leberkase, that is not what you will get. I also understand that they are not going to be playing traditional polka music at this place, since that is not what draws in the crowds of NYC, but I also didn't expect nor did I like hearing hip hop/rap the whole time I was at a bierhaus. It did not compliment the aura of an authentic German restaurant.

  • Margo G.

Was there last Friday. They appeared to be understaffed. It was extremely busy. I was there with a group at the bar. Despite the chaos the bartender Helen was amazing. We were not familiar with most of the beers. She helped us find exactly what we like. And kept our steins full. Best pretzel in town!

  • Spencer S.

Tried the brezel which is a warm jumbo pretzel.. when they say jumbo it's actually extra extra large.. easily split between two people... it was great, especially with the beer cheese... we also tried the beef and pork sausage called gerauchert and the potato cakes... everything was delicious!

Most places on Stone Street are a bit pricey for what they are, but I usually don't mind paying for tasty food and a great atmosphere. At Bavaria, I did mind. The first time I went here was with a large group late on a weeknight. The place was empty, yet we still had terrible service. I ordered the Flammkuchen (German flatbread with mushrooms, cheese, and a mound of arugula) which was pretty delicious. Considering the fact that it's on the appetizer menu, it was reasonable at $12, but if ordering main dishes like schnitzel or wurst, expect to pay $16 - $22 a person. And that's not including the obligatory pints to help yourself forget how long it's been since the server last visited your table. She also refused to split our bill even though we were a group of 5. My second visit was with coworkers for after work drinks, and the server was even more rude. It was pretty loud and crowded, so we ate our pretzel and left after one drink each. This place fooled me twice so I guess the shame is on me.

Really typical FiDi - not good but not terrible.. I'm definitely not coming back for the food. Burger was overcooked, service was too slow on a quiet afternoon... Just disappointing! Just hop on a train for a couple of stops to NoHo or TriBeCa! Otherwise, happy hour on stone street is probably the better plan for this area.

Pretty bad customer experience and the bouncer behaving rude, as a alien I faced kinda of racial discrimination in this bar. I strongly recommend not to go this bar if you're not white.

A nice place to enjoy a sit down lunch outside, especially on a sunny day. What I love most about this area is the vibe of the picnic tables out on the cobblestone "streets" in front of the restaurants. It's almost uniquely FiDi and probably one of my top picks for out of town friends who want to go places off the beaten tourist track that are still memorable. The restaurant itself won't be winning any food awards any time soon, but it was decent. I tried the pulled pork sandwich (straightforward and tasty), and the sausage platter definitely caught my eye. I was pleasantly surprised at how fresh the salads looked for what is essentially a beer garden, so there's definitely something for everyone. Prices seemed reasonable. A good spot to know for a number of reasons- to spend a few hours eating and drinking with friends or to grab a 45 minute lunch with an out of town client.

  • Daniel W.

I have no idea how the food or even the beer is, because I arrived with a group of 5 of my coworkers for lunch around 1pm on a Thursday afternoon, when the place was pretty empty. We quickly ordered our food and proceeded to wait for 45 minutes. Not only did they mis-enter our order the first time, forcing our waitress to come back after the first 15 minutes to re-take it, they totally failed to bring the beer for the following 45 minutes. When asked what was going on, a member of the staff unhelpfully explained "Sorry, we got slammed." Apparently being 65% full at LUNCH TIME in the FINANCIAL DISTRICT is "slammed" now, and excuses the total lack of service. In any event, after 45 minutes of waiting, we informed them that we were leaving. They apologized briefly, but mostly just seemed relieved that we were heading out, since that was one less table of people to serve. As we left, we noticed others doing the same thing, including one woman who noted that she had been waiting for over an hour at that point. Definitely avoid until and unless they hire more staff or figure out how to actually serve a lunchtime crowd.

I was in on Monday night and sat down at the bar. I had a nice beer and pretzel, something I didn't know I needed until I tried it. My bartender Emma was super helpful and attentive, and I'd highly recommend coming in for a few minutes if you're in the area!

Went for a work lunch. Overall, it's okay. The bratwurst was good, and went well with the spicy mustard they served. I wasn't a big fan of what I'm pretty sure was queso dip that they also served with it. The red cabbage salad was a little meh, but the german potato salad was okay. I may have enjoyed everything a little more if I actually could have had beer with it, but...work. Prices are pretty typical for the area, bratwurst was one of the cheaper things on the menu and was sub-$20.

The atmosphere and Beer selection was excellent, however the food was greatly overpriced vs the other Bierhauses in town. The staff did not have anyone to speak German. To make it in NYC Bavaria must do much better!

Had dinner there last night. Ordered the wiener-schnitzel. The food came with some sort of red salad - tasteless, some potato salad - tasteless and the main dish - again completely tasteless. The schnitzel tasted like it was just thawed and thrown in the oven. Also had the Brussels sprout - meh, but how can you screw that up? The place was closed for a long time, I think since the hurricane, but has recently reopened. Management take note: nice place, looks like a great selection of beer, but the food really sucks. Make it better.

Great surprise on Stone Street! Ended up here with some friends at 6:30 on a Friday when the bar we had planned on going to was too crowded. We got a table upstairs. It was loud, but regular NY-bar-loud, not so loud we had to shout. The guys in my party who got beer really enjoyed it. The service was good, and the food was surprisingly excellent! The jumbo pretzel was the highlight. I had the waffle slider and some spaetzle, both of which were a nice end-of-week treat for someone who usually eats healthier. The other people in party really liked their bratwurst and fried chicken. Sometimes it's hard to find an after work place in the area that's not crazy crowded or so loud you can't talk, so it's an extra bonus to not only find a place that fits the bill AND has excellent food.

Hmm... I love German food and beer and it's surprisingly hard to come by in NYC. Anyway...the food was reasonably tasty though the menu was full of things that are not authentically German. The music was so loud that it hurt my ears - and me and my friends couldn't hear each other talk. The staff was super friendly.

Very much enjoyed this place! The atmosphere was relaxed, the servers were dressed in dirndls, and the beer was decent. The soft pretzel however was remarkable, and I'm taking two friends back tonight for one! I don't usually enjoy going out to drinks in the Financial District but this place was as decent as they come.

Today my lady chanel and I went to this German bar Bavaria bier hous where we met this amazing bar tender GIA. Gia is by far the most amazing, superior, unbelievable bar tender there is in New York. We love her explosive energy. She is a cool girl. When we come back to this bar, we will personally ask for her!

Great staff and amazing beer selection. Definitely one of the best on stone st. Music selection is on point for a German establishment. Also they've got an upstairs if you're trying to stay on the low key side of things :)

Came here after a conference for work at about 830pm on a Wednesday. A lot more people were out than we had thought would be! The three of us sat at a hightop table outside (great weather tonight!). I had the grapefruit beer (delicious!!) and the kale and apple salad. Loved the beer, but the salad was a little overpowering - I think it was the dressing. Overall great service and good late night meal to hold us over!

Terrible chicken club sandwich. Super greasy. Asked for cheese on side and it came normal. Asked for water but was not given it once. They auto-grat the checks too.

Went here with a friend. Loved the beers though the waitress wasn't knowledgable about the beers she was serving and seemed to bring us the wrong beers almost every time we ordered. Our server was attentive though, and the place was clean. We also split wings, which were pretty good especially for a place that doesn't specialize in wings. Love the atmosphere of the place and the scene, especially for a spot in this area. I'll definitely be back to try it because I have yet to try the pretzel. I've gone a couple other times and had some great specials on beers, but now can't remember when/why they run those specials. Otherwise, the beers seem reasonably priced for the size. Great beers, though would love to see more IPAs on the menu. Overall, definitely one of my favorite places to drink in the Financial District.

One of the many Stone Street restaurants with tables outside in the street which is a fun place to eat and drink on a nice day. I had a delicious chicken (schnitzel) sandwich served with bacon and cheese on top with fries. Another at my table ordered off an extenesive brunch menu even at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon and had french toast which she rated highly. The waitresses were cute and very friendly. Only downside is the price - sandwiches are $16 and entrees and brunch menu are $18, but it is the financial district after all.

Gave it two shots and it went from meh to "no way" in that short time period. First, in a very crowded competitive lunch neighborhood, this place was just about empty both times we went. Portions are tiny for the price -- the Ruben, a traditionally big and sloppy mess of love, was tiny and dainty and void of flavor. Place was FREEZING today, food took forever to come out and then came out unevenly. 15 mins separated the first and last meal delivered AND we were one of two tables in the place. The burger I had today was actually a frozen patty!!! For $15.00!! Sorry, but with all the other competition around here, I'll be going elsewhere from here on in. As others have said, I want this place to be good, but it aint. I can't imagine it's going to be open much longer.

Delicious wings. (Sweet). Bartenders extremely helpful. Manager however flirting with customers.

They had a lot of German beers (as one would expect). The bartender and waitstaff we're really nice but it was hard to get their attention at times (ordering and cashing out). I would definitely go back!

This is a great place for a group. They have an upstairs which is pretty big and can fit a group of people in a big table. When they have groups to tend to they can get a bit overwhelmed. And the place can be a bit loud. But they have some great food, the interior is nice and of course on a nice day you can sit outside on Stone St. A nice addition to the area.

Amazing place. Went there for my birthday and to complete one mission. To destroy(or be destroyed by) a 3 Liter Stein of beer. I did conquer indeed. The Pretzel was amazing. Comes with 3 sauces. I prefer the mustard. Anyway.. good beer and good times.. If you have a few strands of hair on your chest, do the 3-liter .. DONT share it with a friend.. thats cheating!

Had the pretzel which was good, a little cold inside. Then the schnitzel sandwich, it was OK but repeated on me the rest of the day. Nice atmosphere, pleasant service. Pretty good nothing outstanding , if I'm in the area I'll come back but wouldn't make it a destination.

The location is nice, but that is it. The food is of modest quality, the servers were slow and arrogant. Given the prices they should really consider offering something more for what they charge.

I just watched a server use a swizzle stick on two beers that had been sitting on the bar awaiting her attention. Apparently the way to create a foam on a headless beer is to use a swizzle stick. Having seen that, I can never come back. No wonder the server won't make eye contact when attending my table! Unusually indifferent for a German-themed bierhaus! Oh my, she just did it again, to a whole tray of bier. A lifetime of beer-drinking and I've never seen anything like it. TOPPERS - the bartender has two stefles with six inches of foam. As a beer drinker, I just don't get this place!

My wife & I love the financial district/William St. area and were pleased to find this Bavarian gem. Had the sausages for dinner with a couple of German Hefeweizens - really good. Our waitress Kelly was also helpful in recommending spots closer to our midtown hotel. Even though we were staying closer to Times Square this trip, we made the trip downtown twice to this place!

I'm torn on this place. It seems to have people there who want to do well, like Jodie the bartender I had, but I'm sort of unsure what is missing here. I'll go back at a different time to see if I can provide an updated review.
